For the final and most important match on Curaçao’s journey to World Cup qualification, Papiamentu/O.TV hosted a massive watch party at Villa Thalia in Rotterdam. And we were proud to be one of the sponsors supporting this event alongside other partners.
Villa Thalia is already an iconic club, but that night it turned into something else: a full Curaçao atmosphere in the heart of the Netherlands. The big screen, the flags, the jerseys, the energy in the crowd, it felt like the entire island was in the room. People weren’t just watching football… they were living every minute of it together.
This match meant everything. It wasn’t a regular game. This was the final step, the last obstacle standing between Curaçao and a place in football history. For our community in the Netherlands, especially in Rotterdam, it was emotional. Generations of people with Curaçao roots came together, united for one goal, one team, one dream.
